A hackathon is a creativity, learning, and problem-solving marathon where students from different disciplines come together in small teams to work on real projects. The purpose of a hackathon is to have students learn about idea development and product design by being provided resources like hardware, workshops, and mentors. Hackathons are ultimately a collaborative space where creativity is encouraged and a self-confidence can be obtained through hands on learning.
HelloWorld will be held in the meeting rooms and fishbowl in the Hendrix Student Center at Clemson University. You can expect a large common space for announcements and community hacking and medium room for ceremonies, games, and food.
If you are a freshman attending Clemson University and are interested in making and/or learning something awesome, HelloWorld is for you!
Bring your laptop, its charger, and yourself.
Awesome! Don't worry -- this event is as much about learning as it is making. We will have workshops and mentors to assist you throughout the event. Don't be afraid to ask for help and reach out to your peers. We're all excited for you to join the hacking community. Don't forget the best conversation starter: bonding over free food.
